Kat Longshore, MSc
Sport Psychology Consultant
Kat was born in New York, USA but spent the majority of her life in Philadelphia, PA. She was awarded her Bachelor of Science, with honours, in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Lafayette College (Easton, PA, USA) in 2007. Whilst at Lafayette she was a member of the Division 1 Varsity Softball Team; starting catcher and team captain for 2 of her 4 years on the team. Kat moved to London in 2007 to pursue her Masters in Sport Psychology from Brunel University (West London, UK), which she was awarded in 2009. Whilst there she was a member of the Premiership Brunel Women's Rugby Club First Team, starting forward (1.5 years) and Pack Leader (1 years). In 2009 she also completed her Certificate in Humanistic and Gestalt Counselling from the Gestalt Centre.
Kat is currently pursuing BASES (British Association of Sport and Exercise Scientists) Accreditation through the Supervised Experience process, supervised by Amanda Owens owner of Believe Consulting. She has completed her 3rd year and will be applying for Accreditation in July.
Kat was recently appointed the England Lacrosse Women's Team Sport Psychologist.
Kat is also a Level 2 Softball Coach and Level 3 Softball Coach Tutor. She coaches Softball and Baseball in schools and at the National Softball Academy.
Kat has experience working with teams and individuals in a variety of sports, ranging from tennis to rugby to softball; contexts, ranging from club/grassroots to national/international level; and ages from 11 to 50 years old.
Kat currently resides in Surrey, UK and enjoys playing various sports, running, reading, writing blogs, music, and spending her free time with her friends, partner, and dog Penny.
